I adore them.
And there is absolutely nothing like getting away, just the five of us,
to go camping.
No phones, no TV, no computer, no distractions.

Last week we traveled to Trillium Lake and ended up in a double campsite...the last one they had and we snagged it. It was BIG which allowed us to ride bikes (ALOT), have plenty of cement to draw with chalk, play frisbee golf and let the kids roam and roam until their hearts were content.
We took some time to visit the Mt. Hood Ski Bowl...just couldn't resist since we were so close. We ALL love to play...so this couldn't be a better spot for us :)
First stop...the Alpine Slide. When it came time to ride the lift up the mountain, Ben was a little nervous. He didn't hesitate to do it alone (Jamie had to stay with Ellie and I had to ride with Megan) but when we got to the top he announced in a calm, but matter of a fact manner, that he would only be going down once because he couldn't go up the lift again. Too scary.

However, once he got to the bottom of the slide...he couldn't resist another ride. He ended up taking the lift three times so he could zoom down the hill. What a trooper!
Megan, on the other hand, LOVED every minute of it. She didn't want me to hold on to her on the chair lift ("I do it myself, Mama"...I hear this alot lately) AND she kept saying faster mommy, faster while we were going down the slide!
I love that girls spunk!

We were blessed with great weather (it's been a gamble this year...ugh). In fact, it was so hot that Jamie even decided to hop in the water and take a dip with the kids at Timothy Lake (what the?...Jamie's not much of a water guy). It felt goooooood. We spent the afternoon playing in the water and hiking around a bit.

I love to see the memories you are making with your sweet family. It reminds me of all of our camping trips when you and Nikki were little girls. Ben, Megan, and Ellie couldn't ask for better, more loving parents. I am very proud of you and Jamie and the way you are raising your children. Keep up the good work. I love you so much.
Love, Mom
How long did it take you guys to get there? It looks like fun and very pretty.
