We had another wonderful holiday with our family. We feel very blessed to live so close and get to spend important events, like Christmas, together enjoying one another's company and creating memories. Christmas Eve was spent at my Mom and Dad's where we enjoyed a dinner of snack food...stuffed mushrooms, baked pototo bar, 7 layer dip and chips, ect...(this tradition started because my mom was a BIG health nut when my sister and I were little. This kind of food was NEVER served at our house except on Christmas Eve so it was a big treat!) We sang 'Silent Night' , read a few scriptures and a Christmas story before opening up the gifts. At the end of the night we had our 'special drink'. This is a tradition that started many years ago when my parents decided to put blue food coloring in 7-up. They told us it was a treat for Christmas Eve. We were so excited about the cool blue drink (we were easily entertained) that my parents decided we should make a new and unique drink every year. We have had some interesting concoctions over the years :) It is always fun trying to figure out what is in them. Christmas morning was spent at Jamie's mom's house with his sister and her beautiful family. We really enjoyed our visit...so much, in fact, that we lost track of time and thought we were late for Christmas dinner back at my parent's house. As it turned out, we were there in plenty of time to help get the last minute preps done and enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner. Lots of food, good company and a glorious reason to celebrate. What more could we ask for?
I love all the cool traditions your family does! Have they ever put you in charge of the drink? :) All the pictures were so much fun to look at...ya gotta love Meg in red! She looks awesome, as do you!
Okay, I'm warning you that you will most likely get some type of comment from Spencer in regards to the picture of you with the drink :) Your Christmas Eve meal sounds really good!

I was wondering what the odds would be of getting my kids to sing Silent night before they opened presents. There is nothing silent at my house on Christmas morning!
