From the moment we arrived at Christmas Mountain we were in awe! It was a beautiful place to get a Christmas tree. A magical place...a destination. But it was FREEZING cold up on top of that mountain, so our family was very thankful for the big fire pit that we could warm our hands, toes and tushies by.
They offered free hot chocolate and candycanes. We opted to take the suggestion of the very friendly Christmas tree guy and put a tiny candycane in a steaming cup of hot chocolate. Ummm..Yea....it was so delicious! A little bit of Christmas magic in a cup, I tell ya!
We got on a big wagon which was pulled by a tractor and it made a large loop around the tree farm. We were there on a very clear day and were amazed at the views of Mt Adams, Mt Rainier and Mt St Helens. Breathtaking!
The last few years we have opted for a Noble but this year we fell in love with a Douglas Fir. Megan even threw her arms in the air and sang, "LLLAAAAAAAAAAAA" when she saw THE TREE.
On our way back the sun set. It was a gorgeous mix of orange, red and yellow.
And although we were all red-nosed and frozen to the core...we had a great time on Christmas mountain.
