You start by taking the icecream maker out of the box (it's been sitting in our garage for years...totally unopened until today!)
Next, you recruit your most eager helpers. Boys around the age of 5 who love icecream are a good option.
Then you pour a little of this...
And a little of that...
And walla...
Pure deliciousness...
Don't forget to lick the bowl...

We made homemade ice cream this summer too. It was only our second time using our ice cream maker in the 6 1/2 years that we have had it. It was yummy but, a lot of work.
